Welcome to International Studies!!

Welcome to the International Studies Program, a fast-growing interdisciplinary program offering rigorous curriculum for undergraduate students interested in international affairs.

Offering seven B.A. degree options, a combined B.A./M.I.A., and a minor program, the International Studies Program challenges its students to explore the processes and consequences of the interactions between international and national, global and local, contemporary and historical. It provides students with both a firm grounding in a discipline and the flexibility to permit exploration from alternative perspectives. To enrich and broaden the academic experience within the degree program, studying abroad is encouraged.

International Studies majors further benefit from the strong international network on campus. In addition to the renowned UCSD environment, International Studies majors can take advantage of the activities and programs of the Institute for International, Comparative, and Area Studies (IICAS), the home for International Studies at UCSD, and The School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS), the only UC graduate degree program in international affairs.
